Location
The Rifugio Alpino L'Ermitage is located in the gentle valley of Chamois, a side valley of Valtournenche (AO).
Coordinates GPS: N 45º 48' 508" - E 6º 57' 485"
It is part of the fraction of Lavorè, a small group of houses in a panoramic position on the right side of the valley.
The village is located just above the main town of Chamois, along the mule track that leads to Lake of Lod.
The location of the hut is really strategic for several reasons.
First, the beautiful landscape, which dominates the underlying Valtournenche and the chain of mountains that are the framework for Chamois.
Then, for the pleasant weather, cool in summer and unusually mild winter.
But the real strength of the Mountain Refuge L'Ermitage are the activities that can play.
In summer, the passage of the trail to Lake Lod makes it an ideal starting point for excursions, or simply walk.
As for the winter, the hut is located close the ski slopes that descend from above in Chamois ... What could be better than the convenience of leaving in the morning from the hut, put on boots and skis, and after a short downhill lie at the base of the lifts?
